LORD NELSON was not born at Portsmouth of course, but is connection to the city is one to savour, NELSON monitored all his great sea voyages from this port and of course his last hours before leaving for the battle of Trafalgar were spent at the George Hotel at High Street, his remains returned to England via Portsmouth on board the battered VICTORY, he is one of this nation´s greatest, changed the history in Europe forever and remains one of my all time heroes
