BIGGEST LINER EVER

This blog was created mainly for cruise ferries, but my passion is for transatlantic liners and the QM2 is my favourite ship of all time, she was designed by a ships enthusiast, entered service in 2004 and is expected to have a life span of 40 years at least, when she entered service she was the ship of all superlatives, biggest, longest and most expensive, today she is no longer the biggest in the world but she is truly a unique vessel, cruise ships cannot compete with QM2, this is a ship conceived to travel the North Atlantic at speed, she has a deeper draft and 40% more steel on her hull,  some say she was born a legend, one thing I am sure, probably in 15/20 years she will have the same reputation as QE2, QUEEN MAY and NORMANDIE because that´s where she belongs not in cruise ships world. the photos included were taken during the liner´s first call at the historic port of Liverpool, where all started for CUNARD, the date 20th October 2009 a very dark and wet day but the place was absolutely crowded, please click on the image in order to open, enjoy, text and photos mine
