Tall Ships at Saint-Malo this summer

Saint-Malo in Brittany is welcoming once again the Tall Ships Races this summer, the event will take place from the 5th to the 8th of July, famous in the middle ages for being a fortified island controlling the estuary and the open sea and later, particulary during the 18th century when it became the home of the French privateers and Pirates, today Saint-Malo is the most visited place in Brittany, tourists look for the walled city, the tomb of Chateaubriand, Saint-Vicent's Cathedral, and the Aquarium, also Saint-Malo has one of the greatest concentration of restaurants in Europe, I have visited the place many times and can hardly think of a better place to be during this period, please visit my tall ships blog for all information on this fantastic event http://vmf-tallships.blogspot.com.

ACCIONA ferry "FORTUNY"

Built in Spain in 2001 the "FORTUNY" is 26.912 GRT and has a top speed of 23.5 knots. She is operated by ACCIONA TRASMEDITERRANEA on the Barcelona to the Balearic Islands. This Ferry in 2006 was used on the Portsmouth to Bilbao route but the service didn't last one year, she was at the time competitor to P&O's "PRIDE OF BILBAO", today how things changed, no ACCIONA no P & O, but the service is still guaranteed by BRITTANY FERRIES with the very smart "CAP FINISTERE" better tailored for the service, faster, more comfortable inside and with better facilities for the passengers.
