It's been some years now since last time I have traveled on the Hythe Ferry a service operated since the middle ages linking the city of Southampton to the village of Hythe, the Pier, known as Hythe Pier, is the World's oldest pier train, it was opened by George VI in 1881, ferry and train run every 30 minutes. My idea to take the ferry was to photograph the QUEEN MARY 2 berthed at the Queen Elizabeth II Terminal, the ferry passes really close to the ships en route and makes a unique opportunity to admire and photograph the cruise ships.
